Two disciplines.
One commitment.Your fight is ours.
When you've been hurt in an accident or mistreated at work, you deserve a law firm that takes your case personally, attorneys who pick up the phone, know your name, and won't back down until you see justice. That's Barber & Papa!
A new firm built on decades of proven courtroom experience - fighting for injured clients and workers' rights across New Jersey and New York.
Barber & Papa was built on a straightforward belief: the people who need the most help - those who've been hurt, those who've been wronged at work - deserve the best legal representation available. Not a case manager, but a trial attorney who is personally invested in your outcome.
Kevin Barber brings decades of employment law experience, representing workers who have faced discrimination, wrongful termination, wage theft, and hostile work environments. A U.S. Army veteran, Kevin built his practice on discipline, precision, and an unwavering commitment to the people he represents.
Robert Papa brings over 30 years of personal injury experience, including a track record of multi-million dollar recoveries for clients injured in car accidents, trucking crashes, workplace incidents, and more. He is Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney - a distinction held by fewer than 3% of attorneys in the state.
Together, they offer something rare: trial-ready attorneys in two complementary disciplines, under one roof, with the personal attention that only a boutique firm can provide. As former athletes, they understand preparation, pressure, and what it takes to win - an approach they bring to every case. We handle every case on contingency - you pay nothing unless we win.

Managing Partner - Employment Law
Kevin Barber
A U.S. Army veteran and seasoned employment litigator, Kevin Barber has built his career standing up for workers who have been mistreated, underpaid, or pushed out and holding employers accountable when they break the law.
Kevin Barber brings a combination of military discipline and legal tenacity that few employment lawyers can match. As a veteran of the U.S. Army, Kevin developed the focus and composure under pressure that define the way he approaches every case - methodical, prepared, and relentless.
Over his legal career, Kevin has represented workers across New Jersey and New York in cases involving wrongful termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour violations, and hostile work environments. He is known for the personal attention he gives each client and for his willingness to take employers to trial when they refuse to do right by the people they've wronged.
Kevin's practice is founded on the same principle he learned in uniform: you don't leave your people behind. When you hire Kevin, you get an attorney who fights until the job is done.
Managing Partner - Personal Injury
Robert C. Papa, Jr.
Robert Papa has spent his career securing justice for people injured by the negligence of others - with millions recovered and a reputation insurers respect.
Robert Papa came to plaintiff-side practice the long way and that makes all the difference. After law school at Seton Hall, he clerked for the Honorable Joseph F. Scancarella, then Presiding Judge of the Civil Division in Passaic County. That experience gave him a rare vantage point: he saw how judges think, how cases are decided, and what separates the lawyers who get results from those who don't.
He went on to become a named partner at one of New Jersey's most prominent personal injury firms, where he built a track record that speaks for itself: $5.9M verdict for an injured construction worker, $4.4M settlement for a commerical truck accident, a $2.3M settlement for a motor vehicle crash, and many more.
Insurance companies know that Robert prepares every case as if it will go to a jury. That preparation is exactly why most of them settle.
